Ernesto was a bust...next?

If anything, Ernesto did show that we were prepared to tackle a new hurricane season. I spent some time helping a friend put up shutters because I don't have any at my place. We hunkered down and watched the TV weathercasters traverse the spectrum from stern warnings to their own disappointment. Ernesto was such a flop that when he was twirling his eye above the "C" of Coral Spring on the Doppler 566045 radar, the stations had already flipped over to Regis and were ignoring the Tropical Storm over our heads.

Not that it really mattered though, the trees outside were barely shifting in the light breeze and the rain was sporadic and weak.

My only clue that it wasn't just some heavy storm was around 3 a.m. when I was awoken by one of the aluminum shutters rattling slightly. Aside from that, and a small incident with a loud cat, I slept through the whole thing.

I just hope that everyone doesn't return to the pre-Katrina way of thinking (see what I did there) and become complacent when Hurricane Florence comes knocking on our doors.

Sorry, no pics. I mean I could go take pics now and it would look the same, but what's the point. I charged up all my gear for nothing.

But, you know what? I'll do exactly the same thing with the next storm.
